About us

The Heartland Ayllu is a cross-cultural community dedicated to Earth-honoring practices and spiritual growth in the Kansas City Metro area. Rooted in the shamanic arts, with a foundation in the global Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, the Heartland Ayllu is an inter-faith fellowship that promotes a global culture of peace, love, and wisdom. Ayllu is the Quechua word for “family;” in that, the Heartland Ayllu advocates a community of safety and encouragement to its members. The Heartland Ayllu is inclusive, open to members of any faith, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

The Mission of the Heartland Ayllu is to promote the spiritual principles of the global Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, as well as creating opportunities for interfaith ceremony and community. The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition (PMT) was founded by Peruvian curandero don Oscar Miro-Quesada and is an open tradition centered on inner and outer activities of the soul to restore balance and harmony to our relationship with All That Is. The word Pachakuti is Quechua for “world reversal” and refers to the time of transition we are living in now. A mesa is an interfaith altar used for self-exploration, transformation, and personal growth in which we create a new paradigm of one’s relation to the Self and the Universe.

In the Heartland Ayllu, we often support initiatives that promote a peaceful and environmentally safe planet for our children. Through our events, our primary means of support is through prayer and sacred offerings to the earth which sustains us, but we also raise money to donate to charities such as Niños del Sol, an orphanage in Peru. Another way in which we promote our work is through the creation of apachetas throughout the heartland as places of peace and prayer, a reminder that we are all united as children of Creation. Finally, we sponsor facilitate apprenticeships in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition.

our COUNciL:

The Heartland Ayllu has no official governing body, however there is a volunteer-based council which runs and operates the schedule of events and funds within our group. The council aims to be of service to the Heartland Ayllu as a local branch supporting the global Pachakuti Mesa Tradition community.
